My Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Science in History and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, along with a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology from Rowan University. I am licensed in Mental Health and Substance Abuse across multiple states, bringing a broad range of experience to my practice.With 30 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse, I have worked with individuals of all ages—children, teens, and adults—helping them navigate a variety of life challenges.

 

My Clinical Approach

My primary goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard, valued, and understood. I believe that meaningful therapeutic progress requires both compassion and the right tools for change, and I strive to provide both in each session.

 

While I am known for my nurturing and empathetic approach, I also take a direct approach to therapy when necessary. This is not a form of confrontation, but rather a therapeutic and motivational technique aimed at inspiring real change. My intention is always to help clients gain the clarity and confidence needed to move forward in their lives.

Clients often describe me as understanding, supportive, and deeply committed to their growth—some even refer to me as a "mama bear" for my protective, yet encouraging approach. I am passionate about making mental health care accessible to all and work tirelessly to remove any barriers so that my clients can achieve their goals.

 I believe that every person matters, and although we all have our differences, we are all fundamentally deserving of love, support, and encouragement.

Additional Availablity

I am consistently present and engaged, offering support not only during sessions but also by phone or text after hours when needed. I also remain a resource for former clients who have completed therapy, ensuring they continue to feel supported long after our formal work together ends.

Pet Therapy

Daphne, my beloved dachshund therapy dog, has passed away. She previously provided comfort and support to my clients during sessions.​ I’m fortunate to have my new therapy dog, Lula, who joins me in sessions. Lula provides comfort, companionship, and  and supportive environment for clients. She is full of love, is a cuddler and is wonderful with children. Lula will definately put a smile on your face.
